BBC Radio - Arthur Conan Doyle - The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes (2016 Bolinda Audiobooks Australia)
Clive Merrison stars as Holmes with Michael Williams as Watson in these twelve adventures from the unique, fully dramatised BBC canon of Conan Doyle’s short stories and novels
These short stories are the very last ones written by Arthur Conan Doyle about his much-loved fictional detective. Holmes and Watson are faced with cases that range from the suspicious to the seemingly supernatural, and encounter characters as diverse as an evil Austrian adventurer, a formidable female criminal, a distinguished professor who is acting oddly and a mysterious tenant who refuses to show her face.
Gripping, suspenseful and hugely entertaining, these acclaimed dramatisations were adapted by Bert Coules from the original short stories. Among the guest cast are Hannah Gordon, Robert Glenister, Michael Troughton, Alexandra Bastedo, Harriet Walter, Douglas Henshall and George Cole.

Thanx a lot
great

Why mention “Bolinda” in the title?
This was produced by the BBC in the UK. Might as well list Audible in every book bought from them.
Actually no need to mention the publisher at all in the headline; certainly not a reseller.
July 30th, 2017
It was also released on CD by Bolinda Audiobooks in Australia and that is where my copy is from!
I’m really getting fed up with your 5-star General attitude to everything I do Gweilo. If you don’t like the way I do things then either ignore my torrents or have me kicked off because I’m bloody sick of it!

@DuckPlumber
Grow a thicker skin.
If you engaged on dialogue rather than abuse life would be more pleasant for everyone.
But you are locked into a defensive mode and take every suggestion as an attack. So just go ahead and ignore the way every other torrent here is tagged.

PS — regarding “I’m really getting fed up with your 5-star General attitude to everything I do Gweilo.”
I didn’t recall ever commenting on your torrents before. So
I looked at the pages for every one of your 112 uploads to date. (Well done, by the way.) I didn’t see any previous comments by me. So why are you acting as if I’ve been harassing you?
– Note that if you actually do get abusive comments you can advise in the forum and they will be removed. Not just un-adulatory ones, though.
And aside from shoehorning publishers into the titles, I noticed about 20 uploads used Photobucket for the image link. These are all dead now as they don’t allow them to be used without payment now. E.g.
http://audiobookbay.la/audio-books/doctor-who-death-comes-to-time-an-original-bbc-full-cast-drama-2002-bbc-worldwide-ltd-colin-meek/ But of course I wouldn’t dare suggest you fix them.

Abuse? Would you care to tell me how I’ve been abusive to you?
Mate if you have something you want to take up with me, then would you mind whinging about it through a pm like you usually do and not on the comments section. Much appreciated!

Utterly unsurprising that the resident “genius” thought nothing better than pointlessly criticise a virtually perfect upload.
Needless to say, when genuinely bad uploads appear, he’s nowhere to be found. Or he’s actually defending the indefensible.
Where would this site be without him?????
In a much better place, I’d guess. (hint)

Flawless job. Thanks, Duckplumber.

You really are on a hair trigger.
I’d be happy to communicate via PM; but I sent one and you never responded, so I assumed you had never read it and gave up.
Seeing your intemperate replies here, you really don’t want any comments aside from obsequious praise, so I’ll refrain from offering advice unless you really screw up.
You have some good stuff, shame about the attitude.

@joydiv “Needless to say, when genuinely bad uploads appear, he’s nowhere to be found. Or he’s actually defending the indefensible.”
Report bad torrents in the forum and they will be dealt with.
But “defend the indefensible” WTF are you talking about?
Again, do it in the forum, don’t turn torrent comments into a general forum for abuse of others.

I don’t have an attitude Gweilo, I’m just fed up with being told what I’m doing wrong, at least, what I’m doing wrong in your opinion.
There is no rules or laws on ABB to say I can’t include the publisher and country information of my discs that I share. Believe it or not, some people are interested in that information and it makes NO difference as to how my torrents are shared.
As to me not replying to your PM’s, I have. I might not have responded to the odd one, but most of them I have! To be honest, I have better things to do than to get into pointless discussions on such trivial matters. Apart from the odd person complaining about my high bitrates, I’ve had NO other complaints about my torrents.

Cheers Joydiv. I appreciate that :)

This site offers a lot of freedom & joy to us all and I would love to see it getting better and bigger.
It’s very sad & disheartening to see ABB friends/members fighting with each other.
:(
@Gweilo
Your intentions are good, you want to get this site organised. You want uploads to be alive and serving for a long time. But you are a bit blunt about it.
@DuckPlumber
Your uploads are first rate & you put in lot of efforts/resources into your work. You are one of the best. But I believe you can handle criticism in a better way than you did here.
August 1st, 2017
Thank you for the upload. Very much appreciated.
August 1st, 2017
@zulk — blunt perhaps. I simply describe the issue, explain what is wrong and how to fix it. I don’t preface that with thanks and praise. I don’t know how good any of these files are, so it would be insincere to comment either way.
I prefer to contact uploaders via PM, and discuss issues, not least because it avoids kibitzers and any chance of public argument. But many uploaders either have no forum account or never read PMs.
Anyway, in this case the issue was simple: The “Title” is the title. It’s not “the company that had nothing to do with producing the audio who sold the CD”. Mention in the description but not the “Title”.
And another metadatum that is misused: the “keywords”. These provide a link to other torrents with the same keyword. They also populate the “Related Audio Books” list on the right. So for instance “Sherlock Holmes” as a keyword links to http://audiobookbay.la/audio-books/tag/sherlock-holmes/ — about 75 books. While
“Mystery Crime Dramatisation BBC Sherlock Holmes Radio” links to nothing else; while also duplicating several categories.
And whether I am “blunt” or a “5-star general”, doesn’t change how the site works. Ignore it if you like, you only make the site and your torrents less accessible.
August 3rd, 2017
@Gweilo”While “Mystery Crime Dramatisation BBC Sherlock Holmes Radio” links to nothing else”
That would strike a reasonable person as an obvious defect in the way the site works. Aren’t the keywords “Sherlock Holmes” there as well?
People come to this sh*tty platform for the content, not for the ghastly experience. Good uploaders are the *only* thing that makes this space worthwhile. And DuckPlumber is certainly one of them. So do us all a favour, would you? Yeah, you guessed it.
@DuckPlumber
Start uploading perfectly categorised, dreadfully sounding cr*p, and Gweilo will go to the mat for your reputation.

@joydiv — it may surprise you to know that I did not code this site; but I took the trouble to find out how it works, So you can either wait for them to change the code for it to work the way you want, or, as a reasonable person might, you can follow the instructions given in the upload form, a form you’ve never seen since you’ve never uploaded, and use “keywords (separated by ,)”. The idea being that this allows you to have multi-word keywords, like “Sherlock Holmes” IF you split them from the rest using commas.
And of course it is about content. A ton of content. There are 40,000+ torrents here, so having them all in a big pile means that good content is just lost once it’s not at the top of the pile. At that point, you need to use the search and metadata. And, as my example, if you are a Sherlock Holmes fan, you might be happy to have this appear in the “related audio books” list when you are looking at another Holmes upload.
Still no idea at all what your complaints are; disparaging my uploads? So no one should criticise any upload, except mine? Gotcha.
But as you are not an uploader, and Ducks would drink acid rather than take any advice from me, I won’t waste any more ink here.
October 25th, 2017
Cheers ‘Duckplumber’ always top quality uploads.

Came for the download, stayed for the drama!
This comments thread is probably better than the audiobook. Keep up the animosity and bitching guys, I’m lovin’ it!!!
BTW, thanks a bunch for the upload of the AB @Ducky.
